Agree, Jay.

My only concern of that team is goaltending. I’m not yet convinced what they have can get it done.

The other issue is always injuries. If they get better than average net minding, and they stay healthy, I’d pick them to dance with Lord Stankey’s chalice this year.

great article, nice seeing the avs getting some love outside of the fanbase.

only thing i’d really like to see as a deadline move is adding a veteran, shutdown dman. there’s zero need for more offense on what is already the highest scoring team in the league. mcdavid be damned, he’s an amazing talent but mackinnon’s value to his team trumps mcdavid by a mile. not saying one is better than the other; that’d be like comparing a Ferrari and Lamborghini. insofar as sheer value to the team, however, mack takes the cake and if he gets stiffed on league mvp again that’d be ridiculous.

i’d love to see someone like martinez added at the deadline if the price is something like a third round pick & an ahl asset. he wouldn’t be in the team’s longterm plan, but with the structure they have in place, their amazing cap situation and being the youngest team in the nhl- why not go all in now? we’ll see what joe does, if anything.
